Statement of
Purpose
The mission of White Rose International, Inc. is to
reclaim in our day the Protestant Reformation's heritage of liberty and principled
resistance to tyranny.
In an age when the forces of statism seem only to grow
stronger and bolder, and the sphere of liberty where life may be lived unmolested only
shrinks, it is vital that Christians -- and the world -- recognize the historic
contributions made by Reformation culture and the hope it offers the modern age.
We are committed to confronting and challenging the
growing anti-Christian and anti-religious ideologies that would remove the last vestiges
of Christian culture -- a culture that extended freedom, wealth and opportunity to
the greatest number of people in all human history.
We are engaged in more than just a conflict of
ideas. In many places in the world, religious persecution is being employed as an
instrument of government policy. Asserting the Protestant Reformation's tradition of
religious liberty and freedom of conscience leads us to stand with tyranny's victims.
The urgency we bring to this task is further
conditioned by the growth of fascist- and totalitarian-leaning ideologies that offer
themselves to Christians as political vehicles for protecting Christian values and
addressing legitimate cultural concerns. Despite their sympathetic appeals and adaptations
of Christian rhetoric, history has demonstrated that these ideologies are ultimately
hostile to Christianity. They must not only be avoided -- they must be
resisted.
We believe the culture that arose from the
Protestant Reformation is one that should be studied, analyzed and emulated as a model for
the twenty-first century. It is our intent to serve in whatever ways possible to achieve
that goal. |
